The Office of the Great Barrier Reef (Queensland Department of Environment) organized a field trip for people employed through the Reef Assist Program to visit and network with other projects in the Wet Tropics' north. Jaragun’s staff visited the Douglas Shire Council nursery and sand dune restoration site at Wonga beach, before travelling to Halloran’s Hill Conservation Park at Atherton where the Wet Tropics Management Authority’s project sites could be pointed out across the landscape. Remarkably, Mount Bartle Frere and Mount Bellenden Ker of the Russell catchment framed the view to the south; also visible was the major Southern Cassowary corridor on the southern boundary, connecting the coastal lowlands and mountain range.
